Hi, I’m Abi Jones the Editrix here at Heat Eat Review. The other folks who review here are former coworkers or people that I’ve never met before in my life. That’s right, we’re all strangers who happen to share a common love of good frozen food. If you’re interested in joining us, here are the details of being a reviewer:

Legal Information:

All reviews submitted remain under the copyright of the author. By submitting a review, the author grants indefinite use of the review and images to Future Makers Media, the owner of HeatEatReview.com. Heat Eat Review does not accept previously published reviews. Reviewers must be age 18 years or older and must have a PayPal account for payment.

Review Guidelines:

If you’re still game after the above legal onslaught, please do the following:

  1. Check the review archives and the received reviews lists to make sure you aren’t sending in a duplicate review. If you’re sending a duplicate review it probably won’t be published.
  2. Take and send a high-quality digital photo showing the meal and package in the same style as those currently on HeatEatReview.com. Please do not crop, resize or edit the photo. If you need to take separate photos of the food and the box, we can combine them for you. Also, no flash usually equals a better photo.
  3. Write and send a review of the meal (using a template below), including price, a star rating (1-5, 5 being best), nutritional information and your great sense of humor.

Regular Contributors and Payment:

Reviewers who have at least five reviews also have their own author sections on the site and are paid for reviews. This means that Heat Eat Review will not pay you for the first five reviews you do. It also means that once you have five reviews published you will start making mad amounts of cash (er, PayPal payments) and get links to your own blog! Curious? Here are Adina and Andrew’s author pages. If you’d like a link to your personal blog, it can go there. Or, if you’re an extremely private person you can have completely fake information about yourself posted in that section.

Future Makers Media, Inc., the parent company of Heat Eat Review pays at the following rates for published reviews by contributors (those who already have 5 published reviews):

  • Previously reviewed items: $5.00
  • Never before reviewed items: $20.00

Compensation rates are the same regardless of who provides the meal.

Writers are compensated on the 15th of the month following publication. So, if your review of a new item is published on October 10th, you’ll be paid on November 15th.
Payment is made by PayPal, so you absolutely, positively must have a working PayPal account to be paid. Also, you’re responsible for paying taxes on any compensation received.

Get Started:

If you’re still game after the legal onslaught and extensive guidelines, download the review template above, take some photos and microwave away! Then send your pictures and reviews to reviews (at) heateatreview.com. Sending a review to Heat Eat Review means that you have read and agree to the reviewer terms and conditions.
