I considered writing yet another oatmeal review for NaBloPoMo. Well, I am tired of reviewing oatmeal and I had a muffin for breakfast. Sure, I could have forced down an Aunt Jemima French Toast and Sausage meal just to please you, but I have my health to worry about. By the way, it was a great muffin. If you happen to live anywhere near the Giant Supermarket at 14th St. NW and Park in Washington, DC, I recommend picking up a muffin or two for breakfast. Early mornings, the muffins are warm from the oven and feature a slightly crisp edge around the muffin top. They are quite delightful and could be made even more fantastic by being slathered with butter. I didn’t do that.

While Giant has the foresight to use mini-chocolate chips in their muffins, I’m not sure that they can compare to the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins I made awhile back. Those were so delicious that my boss wanted to know my baking secret. I informed him that the muffins were made not from fresh pumpkin, but from a mix. And that he had a chocolate addiction, which was why they tasted so good. He was not happy with that response. Now I never admit when something was made with a mix. Still interested in making some fantastic muffins from a mix? check out this pumpkin muffin recipe from Sugar Daisies.
