Smart Ones says: Low-fat cookie-flavored ice cream over a crumbly cookie crust topped with fudge sauce with cookie dough crumbles

Abi says: I’m not sure I can ever again convince myself to purchase a Smart Ones frozen dessert. Sure, the cookie dough was the same as every other mass-produced ’safe’ cookie dough, but the ice cream was a glutinous goo that stuck to my gums.

Accidents aside, I think I’m getting a little better at making short videos. Advice appreciated!

OMG, are you reviewing IKEA meatballs next? Aren’t you worried that you might break your streak of video reviews on disappointing foods?

I really think you got some freezer burnt ones there. I just ate one of those a few days ago and it was pretty good.

  3. Meredith on August 24th, 2009

I seriously love these. A lot.

  4. Sophia on August 24th, 2009

I love these… if they are fresh and made right they are really good. I think you must have gotten a bad batch. The frozen ice on top shouldn’t be there.

  5. Mallory on August 24th, 2009

I also really love these. They’re best if you let them sit out just for a minute or two so the ice cream gets a little soft, and that gives it a soft-serve consistency.

wow wow wow ! this review was amazing! i bet you dropped it on purpose, that was awesome!

your reviews are one of my favorite parts of the week!

You know, your dropping it on the floor may have been your body’s autonomic reaction to the fact that you consumed as much of that product as you did.

The presence of ice crystals probably means that it was stored at a suboptimal temperature at some point, causing it to thaw, and was subsequently refrozen. It may account for the texture.

    Or maybe not.

Either way, a very informative and entertaining review which at times approached the poetic.

PLEASE try the cheesecake and review it! It’s delicious!

Abi, you totally just made my night with this review – FUNNIEST one you’ve done so far!! :-D

Wow, I guess you’ve never heard of the five-second rule…or did you just forget about it because you really disliked the dessert?

  11. Jeanette on August 24th, 2009

This is actually one of my favorite frozen desserts. I have NEVER had one with freezer frost on it either. I seriously think that was the problem, it probably messed with the consistency of the ice cream.

So weird that you didn’t like this. I had it for the first time a few days ago and loved it so much I had to eat the second one from the box as well! There was tons of cookie dough, it was soft and sweet…totally delicious.

I thought this variety was just OK. I did really like the Peanut Butter Cup one. The ice cream is still the same, artificially, not-real-ice-cream taste, but the peanut butter cups make up for it!

I like the mint chocolate ones…. I also wonder if you got a bad one…. dessert can never be bad!

    these are actually very food…!!!!

I used to eat the Weight Watchers food until I read the ingredients for their desserts. They all contain partially hydrogenated soybean oil and a host of other horrible chemicals.

  18. Rachel on September 9th, 2009

Hm…..I was surprised to find that you thought these were gross. They are my FAVORITE dessert and would eat 3 boxes in one sitting if I could do it without feeling like a fat ass. I’d probably still do it anyway. In fact, I have 3 sundaes sitting in the freezer right now…….hhmmmmm…..

  19. Sam on September 11th, 2009

There are so good! You got a weird freezer burned one I think, because aside from the puny size (it is diet food after all), I think these are super!

  20. Kristen on September 17th, 2009

I never got the chance to try the cookie dough flavor because my roommate inhaled both…but the key lime pie isn’t bad at all.

  21. Amy L on September 23rd, 2009

Oh I love these! I used to eat them a lot when I was a young teen. Only reason I dont know is because they cost too much. :) But I love how they taste.

I think all of the Weight wathcers deserts are absolutely delishhhhhhhhh. They are a delight. This woman reviewing this product must have something wrong with her taste buds.

You’re definitely doing something wrong. You have a freezer-burnt one there. And the ice cream is divine. Check the expiration date before you buy. (:
