Kraft says: A bagel and cream cheese all in one. The warm, golden crust and soft, chewy texture of an authentic bagel wrapped around a center of cool and creamy Philadelphia cream cheese.

The review below is by the director of my department at work. He is French, so you will need to imagine his responses with a French accent.

  1. Which type of Bagel-ful did you eat?
First I couldn’t tell which one I took, I had to look at the packaging to confirm that I was indeed eating what is referred to as whole grain with cream cheese.
If it had mint in it, I could have sworn I was chewing on some fresh Trident. The doughy taste of the bagel could have probably been avoided by cooking this thing properly. I would have preferred somewhat of a saltier taste rather than the almost sweet taste that is typical to this kind of products.
  2. What did you like about the Bagel-ful (aside from that it was free)?
    …I was hungry
  3. What would you change about the Bagel-ful?
Close the factory down. Seriously, it has nothing of a good bagel. The crust is almost more doughy than the inside. The inside should be moist but not sticky and a lot more compact than it is. They’ve got to get rid of the fake chemical taste. I would categorize this as a failed attempt.
  4. How much would you be willing to pay for a package of 4 (if you liked them)?
I wouldn’t buy those so what ever price is not right. But if really I have to put a price I’d say $4.99.
  5. How often do you eat bagels (free or not free)?
    Once to twice a week.
  6. P.S. I did it eat it all as I am hungry coming out of the gym.

Zing! (That’s the same with or without a French accent.)

I actually tried these once - not expecting anything traditionally considered edible, but because I can’t resist the pull of such ridiculous food industry ingenuity. (see also: Jimmy Dean pancake wrapped sausage, which I am still building up the courage to dig into.)

Anyway, what shocked me most was the unnatural shininess of the “bagel.” Shellac isn’t on the ingredient list but I think they’re lying.

    My son loves these things……

    These look disturbingly like Twinkies…

They’re great in the toaster. I haven’t tried this variety, but the chive one is yummy.

Glad someone reviewed these. I see them when I’m buying my Special K waffles and keep wanting to buy, but haven’t. PHEW!

    Fake bagels. Blech.

I actually liked the chive flavor, but its best heated up. The cinnamon one is just awesome hot or cold. I can see plain being kinda gross though. The ’sheen’ to these IS pretty weird!

This sounds like a good idea, but why not make them round like a bagel

When reading this, all I could think is “carb-y donut lookin thing”.

It also kind of looks like a corn dog minus the stick, but instead of a hot dog, you get goo.

I love this. I sprinkle kosher salt on top of mine before sticking it in the microwave for a few seconds (too long and the cream cheese turns weird). It tastes more like a frozen soft pretzel than a bagel.

I love these. I have only tried the original ones and only cooked in the toaster oven. But I think that they taste great. They are especially great for on the run.

I like these - I like my bagels doughy, not toasted - my kids like them too. They’re not the healthiest thing in the world to eat, but we grab one when we’re on the go. I think they are about $2.75 for a box of four here in Austin, Texas. I have not tried the chive ones yet - our store doesn’t carry them - but I will as soon as I see them.

I actually love these! I do have to cook them twice in the toaster, I do it twice on level 4 to make sure the cream cheese in the middle is not cold. I did not like them in the microwave. The original are my favorite, with the cinnamon ones a close second.

I bought these when I was living in my college dorm without a toaster oven. I tried them from the fridge and they were gross cold. I then microwaved them, altering the length of time I put it in for. I’d always come out with a still cold bagel or a warm bagel with warm cream cheese. It was not pleasant.
