Lean Cuisine 80’s Commercial
April 13, 2008 | Reviewer: Abi Jones
Nonsensically hilarious things in this commercial: funky aerobics moves, enormous portions of Lean Cuisine and guys at the beach who lack all self-control. I’ve seen hot people in my lifetime and they’ve never made me bite a towel. Also, did anyone give thought to what happens to a peach-colored bathing suit when it gets wet?
I know, I expect too much from television.

OMG! I totally love this
Seeing that commercial makes me even MORE glad that I missed the 80’s :0D
If I was a child of the 80s, I’m pretty sure that I would make it my life’s mission to travel back in time and strangle myself.
So is this an actual commercial from the 80s? Or is it one of those commercials that’s fake vintage? I didn’ tknow they had Lean Cuisine in the 80s!
The 80s were so wrong in so many ways… that it was almost right.
looks like those two men that were lookin @ the lady in the peach bathingsuit.. knew what would happen to it.. once it got wet.. .lolol
boy that brought back memories. we need more hot chicks in swimsuits in food advertisements.
Thank you for my making my morning less stressful… I think I still have a leotard with the belt shoved somewhere in the back of my closet. I love how high they were cut at the legs. Totally rad.
I think I actually remember seeing that. Wow the 80s were bad.
I’ve never had a Lean Cuisine give me “more satisfaction”. Unless I have eaten two of them, that is.
Wow.
Being a guy, I have no idea what happens when a peach bathing suit gets wet.
@Chavi – I’m glad you enjoyed it
@VeggieGirl – Things I loved about the 80’s: neon, Wham, Thriller, Cyndi Lauper and Madonna.
@Ace – You’d only have to strangle yourself if you were dieting.
@Laura – This is a real Lean Cuisine commercial. According to Wikipedia, the brand was created in 1981.
@Steph – Yes, I think ‘hilariously horrible’ could accurately describe much of the ’80s.
@mbnh31782 – It appears they did.
@rob – You must be talking about commercials like this: Lean Cuisine – 1984 Embedding is turned off, otherwise I’d include it here.
@MaryAnne – It worked because you were supposed to wear colored nylons of some sort under it. Definitely the sort of thing American Apparel is trying to bring back (shudder).
@Jen – But the hair! The enormous hair!
@Lisa – You never fail to crack me up.
@Janette – Exactly
@John M. – Light colored swimsuits, when exposed to water, become transparent.
That was one of the greatest things I have ever seen. You have totally made my day with this one. I think I’m gonna have to watch it again…
