Food Review Weekly #2

February 3, 2008 | Reviewer: Abi Jones

Welcome to the second edition of Food Review Weekly. What is Food Review Weekly, you ask? It is a biweekly round-up of the best reviews from across the online food review universe.

Eats

Chris at the Healthy Snacks Blog gets Bare Naked at night. Don’t worry, the review is SFW. Getting naked at work? Well, we don’t recommend that.

Caffeinated potato chips. Yeah, I wish I was kidding about that. But Jeremy over at Consumer’s Corner will let you know if they’re worth a trip to 7-11.

Ace of The Impulsive Buy finally eats mayonnaise-less Kraft Basil Vinaigrette Salad. Does he survive? Does this salad involve a significant amount of vegetables? The answer to one of those question is ‘no’.

Drinks

Writers and Artists Snacking at Work share a video review of Vanilla Coke Zero. Don’t worry, there’s also a text version for all of you stuck at the office. Please let me know if the Vimeo system works for you because that’s what I’m using for the Feb. 9th video review.

Screaming Energy’s review of Matrix Mood Enhancing Energy Drink includes the sentence “This drink offered me concentration levels I’d equate to descriptions I’ve heard of Adderall.” That is drink-reviewing genius, folks.

1 Wine Dude, Joe Roberts takes a look at a wine that some consider the Bud Lite of northern Italy. He also challenges another wine writer to an arm-wrestling contest.

Candy

The Candy Blog introduces us to Colt’s Bolts. They look delicious (basically, ten steps up from a Reese’s), but how is there not already a Peyton Manning tie-in, hmmm? Also, who is the cuter Manning? Does Eli have a candy?

Is chic candy worth the cash? ZOMG! Candy taste tests some Vosges haut chocolate available in Vegas and at your local Whole Foods.

Fire Twizzlers sounds like a very dangerous sort of firecracker. Turns out that it is also a new favorite candy over at Candy Addict.

Condiments

Does a fine looking label make for fine tasting hot sauce? The Hot Sauce Blog reviews Desert Pepper Trading Co. XXX Habanero Pepper Sauce. Regardless of the XXX label, the review does not involve pornography.
