HeatEatReview on Sabbatical
September 10, 2007 | Reviewer: Abi Jones
That’s right, we’re on a break for the next two weeks. Don’t worry, we’ll be back with tons of great new reviews starting on Monday, Sept. 24. But you know what? It is really freaking difficult to type with proper punctuation on an Italian keyboard. Because that’s where I am, in Italy. And the thought of a) Eating Italian frozen meals (ew) and b) Creating HTML on this keyboard is giving me hives. Okay, maybe not hives…but it isn’t a pretty sight.
Sincerely,
Abi Jones

P.S. I will be going online every several days just to delete spam and wonder about how Kate could possibly speak in favor of Lean Pockets. What kind were they? Will you write review? And why does the @ sign on this keyboard require the use of the ALT key?
P.P.S. Yes, you read correctly…I am forgoing frozen food for 2 weeks.

hey, if you’re in rome, I can give you the name of the funniest cappuccino dude in the city!
…also, seriously, good call on the frozen products. my host mother used to make me hamburgers, procured from some mysterious box, whenever the fam was eating something I was allergic too. they were, uh, depressing. especially when I could look out the window and see the wonders of pizza! suppli! gelato! my supermarket now has a frozen section, but it’s sort of open bins of frozen things- piles of fish with icicles for eyeballs, for example. buon viaggio!
Do they even sell such a thing as frozen microwavable dinners in Italy?
I think one of the best things about having Italian friends is getting invited to their big Italian family dinners with lots of wine of course. I never pass up a homemade tamale either…ok I better stop now.
I just don’t like cooking for ME.
I’ve seen those hamburgers. They arenàt a pretty sight. The frozen dinners here are mostly those Buittoniàstyle pastas in bags, chicken cordon’bleu type things and those mystery burgers.
I will take pictures.
Also, it appears that IE6 is not playing nicely with the comment form. My apologies to all of you whoàve been dealing with that. If you see any issues with the site (misspellings or funky formatting) please donàt hesitate to send me a comment.
I love Lean Pockets…
I love Lean Pockets too. Any kind, although the meatball ones are my current favorite. Yumm, mystery meat. I really miss my daily dose of HER!!! Only 4 more days!
