Healthy Choice says: Seasoned beef strips are tossed with creamy herb gravy and twisted egg noodles, and served with green beans, carrots, and a tart cherry crisp dessert to complete this satisfying meal.
Adina says: Guess where this meal is right now. That’s right, THE TRASH. I have never rated anything I have eaten a zero because ultimately, eating crappy food is better than not eating. But this made me realize that I was wrong. I was so wrong. Every bite of mushroom beef made me regret living. Because living meant I was still eating this meal.
The beef was tough. It was flavorless. It was ugly. It was your junior prom date that wore Birkenstocks to the dance and sat all night talking about shooting squirrels with a beebee gun and didn’t even notice that you stuffed extra socks into your bra just for him. The noodles were manageable, but every time I ate a noodle (one of seven provided), it reminded me that I would have to eat another piece of beef if I wanted to make it through the day. The sauce was absolutely the most boring thing that I put in my mouth, and I’ve put a lot of boring things in my mouth, if you know what I’m saying.
I didn’t even make it to the greens or cherry crisp, I was so set on throwing this meal away and finding other, less soul crushing food to eat. Seriously. I hated this meal with all my heart.
If you have two dollars to spend on lunch, do not spend it on this meal. Spend it on a candy bar. Or bottled water. Or just donate it to a homeless person and eat grass. Any three of these options will provide you will a more fulfilling lunch than this Healthy Choice Meal.

I wonder who keeps buying Healthy Choice meals? Almost everyone that I’ve tried has been a total disaster. I won’t waste my money on them anymore. They are the most flavorless dinners being sold. Michelina’s/Budget Gormet meals have more flavor and they’re only a buck at my Safeway.
Bleh…
Agreed, every Healthy Choice meal I’ve ever bought is awful.
I have all these traumatic childhood memories of healthy choice dinners(latchkey kid). They have NEVER been any good.
Well as usual all the guys agree with me. Although the review was done by a female.
It’s always that way - me and the guys - I grew up welded to my dad’s hip.My mom had very little influence on who I am.
Is their some mega femme on board who can explain the mystery of who wastes money on these flavorless dinners and/or why?
I suspect it’s the long suffering diet/weight loss syndrome, maybe??? I’m not trying to start a big debate; i’m just honestly curious how Healthy Choice keeps selling anything. When I was a teenager I went through a short phase of this which halted after I joined the US Navy and went thru the living hell called bootcamp. That ordeal made a person want to eat 12 meals a day…
the allure of a sale makes me temporarily forget the pain that healthy choice inflicts. saving 49 cents is apparently more important to me than preserving my dignity as a human being.
plus, if i don’t bring my lunch with me, I always end up getting a giant thing of spicy korean noodles for lunch. and i have no self control when it comes to spicy noodles.
Off the top of my head, the only 2 things that HC makes that are good are the Cheese Manicotti and the Chicken Margerhita. That’s it.
I agree with Adina on the price point. I see them sitting there in their cute little green boxes for just $2.00 each and I think ‘Oh, I could have lunch for just two dollars!’. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
The new-ish box style is also much more alluring than the old box style. Thank goodness, I haven’t fallen for it’s charms, but the layout and pictures are so much better that you want to believe that something other than the graphic designer has changed.
Yeah, I generally find that all frozen meal beef strips/bits are bad, except for the ground beef substance used in some Italian-like meals.
Healthy Choice green beans have the same feel as packing peanuts in your mouth.
