Amy’s Kitchen says: The classic favorite, made with our savory pizza sauce and grated part skim mozzarella cheese.
Abi says: Amy’s Cheese Pizza is 73% organic. It is also 73% delicious. Why not 100% delicious? Well, it is incredibly boring. Sure, the crust is light and crisp, the tomato sauce tastes like it was plucked from a vine, and the cheese has the perfect stringiness one expects from mozzarella, but where were the Italian herbs and spices? In my entire life I have never met a less exciting pizza.
Fortunately, I am not afraid of using a skillet or chopping things with my super-sweet santoku knives. After the first ultra-boring Amy’s Cheese Pizza experience, I decided that a topping-fest was in order. With the aid of a sweet yellow onion and some artichoke heart and garlic chicken sausage, this pizza went from staid to stunning. I used two sausages and one small onion, but for those of you thinking about trying this at home, I suggest using only one sausage. I know, you’d think with two people there should be two sausages, but that is just wrong.
Amy’s Cheese Pizza is not something I would ever eat without toppings. However, when loaded with the deliciousness that is onion and Aidell’s sausage, this pizza became something of a miracle.

The serving size is 1/3 the pizza? I think I like the Stouffer’s flatbread scheme MUCH better — too bad I have been unable to find it at the local markets in LA.
The serving size for this pizza is 1/3 because it’s the larger version of Amy’s pizzas - I thought you were going to be reviewing the convenient, single-serving sized pizzas?
Jessica - The Stouffer’s flatbread isn’t 73% organic, is it? Yeah, looking at the calorie count and viewing pizza as a ‘treat’ item, this isn’t necessarily a good choice (especially with the lack of vegetables). The Stouffer’s Corner Bistro Steak Fajita Flatbread makes for an interesting nutritional comparison.
Veggiegirl - I’m sorry to disappoint you
Since we have 14 pizzas to review, it is going to take a total of five weeks to get through them all (3 weeks of pizza reviews, 2 weeks of non-pizza reviews). Also, the larger ones were consumed first because they took up a ridiculous amount of freezer space. When the individual pizzas go up, they will have something like ‘Single Serving’ in the title.
Abi, your pic with the added toppings look unbelievably more delicious than the first pic. I’m actually surprised that Amy’s pizza would be so lackluster. To me, Amy’s would be more wholesome, maybe incorporating a whole wheat crust with veggies at least. 12 grams of fat for a third of the pizza seems like the average amount of fat in a frozen pizza, but I think I expected more from Amy. However, I would buy your version in a second.
I love Amy’s cheese pizza its defiantly my favorite frozen pizza. I am not a fan of toppings so I love that its plain. Its a simple pizza but delicious.
Defiant indeed. The Amy’s cheese pizza really is good on it’s own, but I’ve always has a fundamental issue with the idea of cheese pizza being one’s favorite pizza. Is there nothing that could be placed on the pizza that would improve your satisfaction? Very odd.
Forgive me if I am wrong, but what’s the point of reviewing a cheese pizza and then adding toppings because it was “boring”? Isn’t the point of the pizza to be plain? And does it get 4 stars because of how it was by itself or with the toppings?
Yes, adding things is totally fine and I can see that - but you were reviewing a cheese pizza sent to you to be seemingly be reviewed as a cheese pizza!
Oops sorry, it was not provided by Amy’s as I see here. Anyway, I like cheese pizza because I’m a boring girl - but just wanting to know if this pizza is purchase-able.
This pizza was rated in comparison to other frozen cheese pizzas. As I said before, the sauce tasted very fresh and the cheese was nice, but I found it lacked spices, which is why it makes such a great base for other items. If it weren’t for the high-quality sauce then this pizza would have been just three stars.
Personally, I would select a Freschetta Four Cheese over this one. The Freschetta pizza has a sprinkling of fantastic herbs that really add oomph to the pizza, plus I like a puffier dough than featured in the Amy’s versions.
I had this pizza last night for the first time. I thought it was great, as is everything I’ve ever tried from Amy’s Kitchen. The crust comes out deliciously- light, crispy, like everyone says. Yes, there’s only cheese on the pizza, but the olive oil and whatever herbs are used really push the taste level up. It doesn’t just taste like cheese and tomato sauce– it’s very flavorful.
I would have to say that it’s not a good idea to let a piece of this pizza sit for a while, and then microwave it. When I did that, it was soggy and didn’t seem to be as flavorful. Although I guess that could happen with any pizza. Since Amy’s pizzas are small, I always end up eating the whole thing, with my reasoning being “Well… if I try to microwave it later, it won’t taste as good.. might as well eat all of it now!”
I’d be curious to know if other people pig it up like me and eat the whole thing in one sitting.. I mean, it is pretty small…
[…] realize exists. The solution is Amy’s Cheese and Pesto Pizza. Last year I complained that Amy’s cheese pizza was that it was all fine and dandy so long and one didn’t mind being bored out of their mind. […]
[…] But I couldn’t just toss the chicken. No, I had to combine it with my Pasta-roni. Just like the general improvement that occurs when sausages are sauteed and added to pizza, I thought that sauteeing the chicken first would add a bit of extra flavor and make the meal seem a bit more normal. It seemed like a good idea at the time. It was a good idea with my cheese pizza. […]
