And the winner is…

Kid Cuisine Deep Sea Adventure Fish Sticks

The Kid Cuisine reigned supreme (okay, I stole that from Alton Brown’s Iron Chef commentary) with 159 votes, compared to 115 for the Lean Cuisine Garlic Shrimp, and 92 for the Hungry-Man Salisbury Steak. Fish-stick-land, here I come.
Yes, I’m going to eat microwaveable fish sticks to satisfy all of your prurient video wants and desires. Quite frankly, I’m happy that this meal is small. Unfortunately, it contains myriad portions, including:
- Fish Sticks
- Corn
- Macaroni and Cheese
- Gummy Hammerhead Sharks
I am shuddering at the thought of gummy hammerhead sharks. For some reason, images of Steve Irwin keep surfacing in my subconscious. Also, why is their mascot a duck? I just don’t get it.

I may be wrong but I think he’s a penguin. I seem to recall him being a more normal looking penguin back when I was of the age to want these, but it appears they’ve stylized him significantly.
Hmmm. I think he bears a close resemblance to Darkwing Duck.
yikes! good luck with eating this meal - you’re quite brave. looking forward to the video review!
Yes, he used to look more pengiun-like in his younger years.
Yum…just think of that mushy, flavorless corn and fish and those gummy sharks…that should inspire you to open that dinner up.
Gummy sharks?! You don’t nuke those too, do you?
No, I’m pretty sure you take them out. I wouldn’t know this, but I did some babysitting for my aunt a few years ago and her five year old would beg for these types of things (Kid Cuisine, Lunchables, etc) . I’m not sure if he ever actually *ate* the Kid Cuisine ones.
I mean, *I* didn’t even like them and in high school I would eat almost anything.
when IS the review? : )
Syrra, I remember lunchables. Are those still around? When they first came out I thought they were the coolest thing. This was at least 15-17 years ago. Now that I look back, it was just crackers, discs of meat and cheese, and maybe a pudding snack or something along those lines. And they charged like $3.99 for them when in reality it would cost maximum $1 to put that amount together yourself.
Abi, you should have someone review those Smucker’s frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Just look at them makes me cringe from fear and from sadness that people have gotten that lazy not to be able to make a simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich themselves.
Sam - I have to take them out before I microwave the meal.
S - The vlog review won’t be up before July 1st. I’ll do it before then, but I have some ideas that might take time to implement.
MaryAnne - I tried those, but have been too lazy to review them
I’ve been on the lookout for the wheat-bread-encased peanut butter and honey variety.
MaryAnne: Yeah, Lunchables still exist. They have pizza and nachoes and all sorts of evil unhealthy varieties now. They probably have a website, if you do a search.
Those Smuckers sandwiches were terrible when they came out while I was in middle school. Probably still are.
Definitely a penguin, because he’s a frozen food guy and all. And he did used to look more penguin-y, I think.
I voted for this meal, too. Because it seemed like it would make for the most fun review. Sorry you have to eat it. Suffering for your art, I guess.
KathyR - You are brilliant, of course it is a penguin! I can’t believe that I’ve been reviewing frozen food for over a year now and didn’t think of that.
Hey Abi… Not sure if you have a Publix around you but they have the peanut butter and honey uncrustables and they are to die for… i could never make them taste as good as smuckers does so i have no problem paying 2.50 for 4 sandwiches
penguins don’t have giant beak things
