Stouffer’s says: Shrimp and roasted garlic topped with a combination of mozzarella, Parmesan and Romano cheeses over a roasted garlic sauce.

Bale says: I really can only think of two words to describe Stouffer’s new Shrimp and Roasted Garlic Flatbread: oily and pestoeey. I’m not even sure that ‘pestoeey’ is a word, but it is the best word to describe this food.

I am not the biggest fan of eating plain cheese pizza, but this was free, so I made do. I love me some flavorful sauce on my pizza, but in this case Stouffer’s thinks that the oil makes up for the lack of sauce. FYI, Stouffer’s, oil doesn’t make up for zero sauce.

The flatbread is an okay portion at nearly 10 oz but not truly filling as a meal. I guess I would buy this again if it was on sale but as I write this I can still feel the oil permeating my taste buds, so I might change my mind about making this meal a future purchase.

The final problem with this pizza is the incongruity between the box and reality. Look at the picture on the box and you’ll see wonderfully plump shrimp. Those are nearly cocktail-size shrimp! Opening up the flatbread is a different story. The shrimp are half the size and a couple of them are chopped up. Stouffer’s shouldn’t be advertising large shrimp and substituting salad-sized shrimp instead. I give this 3 out of 5 stars but only if the oil taste in my mouth goes away soon.

This meal was provided to HeatEatReview.com by the Stouffer’s PR company. They’ve also provided us Lean Cuisine meals in the past.

How was it free? Is there some sort of promotion going on? Free stuff = good. Usually.

I tried this and couldn’t get past a couple of bites… and I consider myself an adventurous eater! The bland flatbread, rubbery shrimp, and tons of oil were nothing compared to the assault of roasted garlic! Now, don’t get me wrong… I loves me some garlic… but this was just waaaay too much. You’d probably knock out an army of vampires after eating that thing!

    Shrimp on a pizza. Why?

Shrimp on a pizza is normally delicious. These are not the delicious shrimp I normally find on my pizza. These are the reject shrimp whose taste they figured they could cover up with a bottle of oil. Like I said, frozen shrimp = bad. I don’t even buy my shrimp for salads, bbq, or recipes frozen. Ew.

I had one of these and gave it to my boyfriend to eat. I cooked it at half power because our micro cooks things (esp pizzas) way too fast and you will get chewy bread with overly fried cheese. So I got the innards to heat ok but the bread didn’t crisp. I had a small piece and I do think I remember it being oily. And very very garlicky

Ummm, it’s NOT a pizza. That’s probably where the first problem comes in for you. I liked it, but then, I wasn’t expecting pizza or gourmet quality from a FROZEN FLATBREAD. I could only eat half because I was full.

I am amazed. Unless they changed the recipe, mine was absolutely amazing. Not the least bit oily and I sure never tasted any pesto. I noticed the garlic and the cheeses and thought it was just heavenly.

I consider myself to be a very fussy eater and can taste the box in a boxed cake mix & could tell instantly when I ate at the Atlanta Bread co and the pork in my sandwich had been frozen. I cannot eat pork if it has been frozen after cooking…very nasty. I read a glowing column about this product from the resident taster at one of the Chicago papers.

They must have changed the recipe is all I can think.

I am shocked by this review, I love this meal. I prepare it in the oven and the flatbread gets crispy and the cheese is golden. The white sauce is not at all oily. There is a lot of garlic, but that is listed as one of the main ingredients.

I think that’s the thing. I was at home when I tried this for the first time. I was gonna put this in the microwave, but I decided against it and I am glad I did. I think the oiliness and rubberiness comes into play when you nuke this meal. It was decent, but I am not sure I would purchase this again.
