Healthy Choice says: Tender white meat chicken smothered in creamy Alfredo sauce, made with a small amount of strongly flavored Parmesan cheese to create the distinctive Italian-style flavor for fettuccini cooked al dente. The broccoli, peas and carrots complement this filling meal, and the cherries with vanilla crisp dessert finishes this complete meal on a sweet note.
Nicole says: Well, there is certainly a healthy portion of veggies here - you get broccoli with your Chicken Alfredo as well as a side of peas and carrots. The peas and carrots cooked up pretty firm, the broccoli cooked in the sauce so it was limp and mushy. I can’t think of anything that I enjoy limp and mushy.
Healthy Choice’s Alfredo sauce is both flavorless and watery. These things are probably related. The noodle helping is in good proportion to the chicken, but the noodles cook up a bit soft, just like the broccoli. There are three or four larger pieces of chicken (larger than a mini post-it pad) and a couple small pieces - the chicken can boast good texture and appearance, but not much flavor. There was nothing “crisp” about the cherry dessert, but it was not overly sweet, which I liked. This was equivalent to a cup of mid-grade canned pie filling with some white flavored bits on top - I could taste the vanilla, which is saying something considering the blandness of the rest of the meal.
I had to eat this meal with a spoon because we are experiencing a fork shortage at my office. If someone IS hoarding forks, go fork yourself. Eating pasta with a spoon and no fork is no walk in the park.
The dessert was the highlight here, the Alfredo cheese sauce was a big disappointment and I don’t much like peas. I will not buy again. (Well, actually, I didn’t buy this time - I stole it from my boyfriend’s freezer.) If you are shooting for a vegetable-and-fruit-heavy diet, this might be for you, assuming you don’t like cheese.

Is part of the cherry pie dessert white because of freezer burn or cheese spillage or what? Looks moldy…
I’ve had so many of these “frozen dinner” cheesy alfredo meals and usually hate them so much, that now I’m really wondering what good alfredo tastes like. I don’t think I’ve ever ordered cheesy alfredo in a resturaunt in my life.
The white bits are the “vanilla crisp ” part of the dessert.
Colleen,
Go for it, but make sure it’s an eggy alfredo which is great rather than a cream based alfredo.
Eggy or cream based? How can you tell the difference? What does Olive Garden serve?
Alfredo sauce ordinarily doesn’t contain eggs — it’s butter, heavy cream, and parmesan cheese. The similar-looking sauce used for spaghetti carbonara contains milk, eggs, and parmesan and/or romano cheese.
So if you’re looking for an eggy alfredo-type sauce, I’d order spaghetti carbonara and skip the alfredo entirely.
Alright. Sure. Thanks for the info, I’ll try it next time I do Italian…

I have been stealing plastic forks from various establishments and hiding them in my desk. Next time you need one, come see me. I’ll hook, you up.
Has anyone thought of creating metal sporks?. And if not, I’m on it and giving it to everyone I know this XMass.
There are pernicious rumors that metal sporks are available at camping or Army/Navy surplus stores, but this is not something I’ve checked out personally.
I would have only gave this meal one star. It was probably the worst frozen meal I’ve ever ate. From my experience I’ve found that Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones have much better flavor than Healthy Choice. I may as well went outside and ate grass. The desert was terrible as well, being much too tart. I ate the entire meal with a grimmace on my face.
I am eating this disgusting meal as I write this review. One star, at best, and only because of the vegetables.
The chicken looked, felt, and tasted like a sponge. I don’t know what they did to tenderize it, but they need to stop. The noodles and broccoli were the only thing from the pasta I could stomach, after one bite of chicken.
The peas and carrots were good. I love peas and hate carrots, but there was a good balance so I didn’t feel overwhelmed with the carrot portion. In fact, I mixed the vegetables together with the remaining pasta portion so the carrots were enjoyable as well.
The cherry pie filling dessert was ok, and yes it was tart, but I enjoy tart things so I gobbled it down.
I decided to try Healthy Choice again after a boycott of many years. I can’t say much has changed, except perhaps they now add salt to their food. Looks pretty, tastes like crap for the most part. I’m going back to Lean Cuisine and South Beach.
This Meal is amazing. You guys must all be paid off by other brands.
I had one of these recently and it had one glaring problem:
NO CHICKEN!
What the…..
I had this meal last night for dinner…it was seriously the worst frozen meal I think I have ever had. The chicken had no flavor…in fact it tasted watery. The sauce was totally bland…the dessert was foul….the only positive was the peas and carrots!!
I don’t think I will be eating a healthy choice frozen dinner for a long time
