Get Healthy with HeatEatReview.com
January 1, 2007 | Reviewer: Abi Jones

Here at HeatEatReview.com HQ, we’ve definitely enjoyed a few too many glasses of egg nog. In that spirit we’re featuring an entire month of healthy meals and snacks. We’re going to give you the best and the worst of Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice, and Smart Ones meals. We’ll also delve into the world of ‘All Natural’ and ‘Organic’ foods. Don’t worry, we have hippies on hand especially for those experiments. This celebration (or is it punishment?) kicks off with the inside scoop on three yet-to-be released Kashi meals.
That’s right, you’ll know whether or not these guys are good before they’re even in stores:
Tuesday: Kashi Lemongrass Coconut Chicken
Wednesday: Kashi Pesto Pasta Primavera
Thursday: Kashi Chicken Florentine
Worried that our ‘healthy’ reviews won’t have the same zip or zing as regular ones? You must not be familiar with Healthy Choice’s Dill Salmon meal. Stick with HeatEatReview.com for a January filled with healthy meals, edible or not.

Well, at least if the hippies die under human experimentation, there isn’t any real loss.
Thank you for the belated holiday present Abi. I love reading heat eat review for various reasons- it breaks up an otherwise mundane work day, gives me a good chuckle, provides tasty ideas for the rest of my work week’s lunches, gives me some ideas for cooking dinner, etc. But, after a good look at my bloated face in various NYE photos, I have decided to give up my daily frozen meal for a lower sodium diet of hard boiled egg whites, any green vegetable, fish, coffee, tea, and yogurt for 6 weeks. My boyfriend is quitting smoking so I figure if he can do that, I can drop 12 pounds in the next 6 weeks leading to my birthday. This month’s healthy reviews is little bit of support… now if only they made a frozen fat free, low sodium, chock full of protein and vitamins meal. Happy New Year!
I’m confused about your mention of the Kashi products not being available in stores. My wife tried one recently - her review, if she wrote one, would be very negative - and I think she picked it up at a local store. Perhaps the DC area (where I live) is a test market?
Meredith - The new Kashi products have been released (dirty little secret: we usually eat products long before the reviews appear online) in some stores across the country, but may not be available everywhere for the simple reason of shelf space. We got them in the mail from Kashi’s PR company back in December, but I haven’t yet seen them in a store.
If your wife has had one of the new meals and didn’t like it, I would appreciate if she left an honest assessment of the meal in the comments section for that meal. It helps to get more than one opinion of something.
