A Menu For Hope III

Every year, Food Bloggers from all over the world get together for a fundraising campaign. We call it ‘A Menu for Hope’. Last year, they raised $17,000 to help UNICEF. I didn’t say ‘we’ in that last sentence because HeatEatReview.com didn’t exist at the time. Now HeatEatReview does exist and we’re here to raise some money to help the UN World Food Programme, which provides hunger relief for millions of needy people worldwide. A Menu for Hope runs from December 11-22, 2006.

This year, HeatEatReview.com is donating a gift box of award-winning artisan cheeses from Oregon’s Rogue Creamery. This gift package includes and 8 oz hand milled, full cream Sharp Cheddar made the same way it was 70 years ago. A 7 oz wedge of exemplary raw milk Oregon Blue Vein cheese made by hand in the same traditional artisan process since 1957. And an 8 oz block of our subtle, fragrant Rosemary Cheddar featuring Rosemary harvested from the owner’s garden.

If you’re wondering how you can win such a remarkably lovely box of cheeses, don’t worry; the process is rather straightforward. Our super-secret prize code is UE05. It stands for United States East Coast Prize #5. Just write down the number UE05 and follow these simple instructions:

  1. Go to the donation page on First Giving.
  2. Make a donation! Each $10 you donate will give you one raffle ticket toward a prize of your choice. Please specify which prize you’d like in the ‘Personal Message’ section in the donation form when confirming your donation. You must write-in how many tickets per prize, and please use the prize code—for example, a donation of $50 can be 2 tickets for UE01 and 3 for UE02. (Please use the double-digits, not UE1, but UE01.)
  3. If your company matches your charity donation, please remember to check the box and fill in the information so we could claim the corporate match.
  4. Please also check the box to allow us to see your email address so that we could contact you in case you win. Your email address will not be shared.
  5. Check back at Chez Pim on January 15 when results are announced.

Rogue Creamery Cheeses

Oh, you want to see this box of the best cheese in the whole entire world? Here it is! Remember, this is a raffle, not an auction. This means that just one $10.00 ticket could win you this box of cheese, cheese that is obviously worth a lot more than ten dollars. Also, the actual cheeses are much larger than those shown here. I wish that I could win this prize because I have been searching for rosemary cheddar for approximately 18 weeks. There is none to be found in DC and it has been driving me mad!

    Hi Abi,

I stumbled upon your site to see your lovely cheese box for the Menu for Hope. Then I saw you are also in Wash, DC, and also a GMU alum. Hoorah! Have you been to the Cowgirl Creamery in Chinatown? I must go soon.

    Have a great holiday!
