Trader says: Whether you’re looking for a tasty treat to serve with tortilla chips, a new take on your favorite burger or a spiffy sauce for pasta, Trader Joe’s Creamy Spinach and Artichoke Dip fills the bill. This is a perfect blend of artichoke hearts, spinach, and Swiss & Parmesan cheeses that is great for entertaining a crowd or dinner for the family. You may have seen dips like this elsewhere, but we think ours outdoes them all. Go ahead - try it for yourself.

Abi says: During the e. Coli outbreak, I used spinach dip as a substitute for the baby spinach I usually get in my diet. It is sort of nice when roughage takes the form of a savory, cheesy dip. Now that the outbreak is over, I’m limiting my dip intake to times when I have company.

I like to heat this dip in the microwave and serve alongside pita chips. It is rather simple (all of 2 minutes in the microwave) and the result is impressive to other people. A.K.A. my friends. Jess and Josh seemed impressed when I said “Oh, let me put together some spinach dip so you guys have something to snack on while I change out of this Cleopatra costume.” Of course, they are impressed with anything I bake/cook. It is nice to be so adored for my competency in the kitchen.

Trader Joe’s Spinach and Artichoke Dip costs just a couple of bucks. Add a couple more dollars for a bag of pita chips and you’ve got a delicious appetizer for four people for four dollars. I can’t tell you whether it outdoes other dips in taste (though I am giving it five stars), but I can tell you that at just over $2.00, you’d be hard-pressed to find an equally inexpensive, but just as tasty spinach-artichoke dip.

(For those paying attention to serving sizes, this is a great appetizer for four people. Serve with baked pita chips and the nutritional information isn’t too bad for something that tastes so decadent. Also, it doesn’t look like the picture; cheese is included but you’ll end up mixing it into the dip during the microwaving process.)

I just ate this two days ago, it went quite well with pita chips and crackers. You’re right, though; there’s no gooey cheese crust. It has to be mixed in halfway through the cooking process. Shame on you for misleading pictures, Trader Joes! It was pretty good but I think I might prefer Costco’s cold spinach dip.

This stuff is to die for…some Trader Joes don’t carry it though :( Very inexpensive, it’s worth it to driver to another store for.

Mmm, this looks so good. mmm. I used to regularly indulge in T.G.I Fridays frozen spinach artichoke dip with regular old corn chips. and it was good. but if I remember correctly, it was about four dollars. and very small.

I’ve got to try this. Every restaurant I’ve been to puts chicken broth in their spinach dips, so I haven’t been able to eat it.
