Boca says: Introducing BOCA® Lasagna made with meatless ground burger and nutritious soy. Now you can get the delicious taste found in other frozen lasagnas, but with less fat, calories and cholesterol. Just pop it in the microwave or oven and you’ll be enjoying a traditional Italian dish in no time.

Abi says: If you’re looking for a meal that will help you drive away coworkers, small dogs, and ex-boyfriends, look no further than Boca’s Meatless Lasagna. With an astrigent sauce and plenty of fake meat, you’ll be scaring people off with what are perhaps the worst burps in the history of humanity.

Things that are worse than Boca Meatless Lasagna Burps: the guy next to me on the metro who is wearing enough cologne to kill a small marine animal (think otter) or when you wait and wait at the airport luggage carousel and your bag never comes out.

So yeah, this meal is better than lost luggage. I have to hand it to Boca on the pasta and cheese elements (inner cheese filling). I was delighted to eat that herby ricotta sandwiched between ridged al dente lasagna. I was not as enthused about the tomato sauce, which could strip paint off a ‘78 Chevy Nova. You’re also not likely to benefit from the full 21 grams of protein in this meal unless you enjoy eating meat that’s left in the bottom of the lasagna dish. I like eating meat straight from the lasagna pan at home, but in this meal I just tossed the textured vegetable protein mocking me from the bottom of the tray.

As soon as I saw the title of this review I got excited. I love Boca burgers. Yes, lasagna is scary but this version is lowfat and I love Boca! With some garlic and low fat parmesan cheese, I could make this work. I’m hoping that your comparison to smelly metro guy and baggage claim was a roundabout way of saying, “MaryAnne go purchase your beloved Boca!” Three stars? Well it’s better than the woman in her mid-fourties sitting next to me on my flight to NY reading over my shoulder while interrupting me to point out passages she was highlighting in her Art of Fellatio book that she would later show to her 9, 14, and 16 year old daughters in the row in front of us. How’s that for a comparison?

MaryAnne, you should definitely try these for yourself. If they’re on sale go for it. I’m just saying that the burps following your meal will be enough to clear out the cabin of a Boeing 747.

Even with the burps, it has to be better than strangers telling you about fellatio. That is so awful I can’t comprehend it occuring in real life. On an airplane. You are a woman of supreme fortitude.

I honestly don’t think this one is bad. However, I kind of like soy and all the flavor that goes with it.

That still does not address the burp factor. I did mention that the pasta and cheese were both great. But there wasn’t nearly enough cheese in the cheese:sauce ratio.
