NaPoBloMo 2006
October 31, 2006 | Reviewer: Abi Jones
At HeatEatReview.com, we’re always on the hunt for the latest convenience foods. In fact, if ‘Eat’ wasn’t the middle name of this blog, it would be ‘Convenience’. Except that HeatConvenienceReview has issues as a name: A) It sounds dumb. B) Typing ‘convenience’ is pretty inconvenient. So, we stick with the darn cute name of HeatEatReview.com.
In the vein of convenience loving (aka laziness) on this site we’ll be taking part in National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo) this November. What, you’ve never heard of NaBloPoMo? Well, it was inspired by National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). During NaNoWriMo, people all over the world try to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. While we’ve endured Hungry-Man dinners and taste-tested odoriferous noodles, we are not insane enough to try to write a novel in the month of November.
Instead of participating in that craziness, we’re doing NaBloPoMo and promising to feature a new post every day in November. Yes, that’s an increase of more than 100% in our posting (currently 3x a week) schedule. November will include breakfast foods (woo!) on weekends, a Trader Joe’s festival (2 weeks of TJ’s), the announcement of our contest winner, and some surprises that I’d tell you about, but then they wouldn’t be surprises.
We look forward to hearing from you during the month of November.
Sincerely,
Abi Jones
Editor, www.HeatEatReview.com

What’s with the pistol icon?
Umm, you forgot to say ‘Happy Halloween’?
Maybe it’s like the confusing “vote or die” campaign…”blog or die”? I would like to participate, but I have 4 term papers due in the next two weeks and will be too busy crying in the shower to update my little blog too often.
Crow - The pistol icon was one of the two choices for icons containing pictures. The other one had Yoda. It was a lesser of two evils sort of thing. Yes, I chose the gun as the lesser of two evils. I like it because it is so shockingly unexpected.
Colleen - Sorry, Happy Halloween! It didn’t really feel like Halloween yesterday, even though my prof showed up to class wearing a witch costume. A witch costume with a Mardi Gras mask. Read into that what you will. Also, a bunch of us participated in a Halloween scavenger hunt on October 21st and then went to a party or two this weekend. I feel like I’ve been celebrating Halloween forever.
Ace - I think our motto here at HeatEatReview.com would be “Aut Microwave Aut Mori”. Also, our logo would have a little microwave on the inside instead of a gun. Heeey. I have access to some graphics editing software today. Stay tuned for a new logo that maybe has a microwave on it. Maybe.
Congrats on your entry into the food review world. That meal is sitting in my freezer. It isn’t so much that I’m scared of it as I like to take care of myself.
I’m all for guns, just, yeah, it’s shocking on a food site.
