Trader Joe says: White chicken and vegetables with Massaman Curry Sauce over Steamed Rice. Let sit for two minutes before eating.
Trader Joe's Massaman Chicken

Abi says: I only rated this meal three stars because it does not live up to the awesomeness of Chicken Tikka Masala or Cheese Enchiladas and is a little runny for my taste. Yet I was so inspired by the lovely spiciness of this meal that I thought up a new type of cuisine. If there are any investors out there, here’s my idea: a Subcontinental fusion restaurant that brings together the cuisines of India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Mexico. I call it: IndiSriMexiThai. Yes, all of those sections end with an ‘i’.

Featured Dishes:

Carne Asada with Mango Chutney and Naan
Tender steak marinated overnight in a spicy adobe-chipotle blend, grilled tableside, served with a drizzled of mango chutney-infused salsa and warm naanChicken Tikka Masala Tamales
Gently seasoned chicken tandoor wrapped in a fragrant masa blend and banana leaves, served with flagons of exotically spiced masala sauce, salsa cruda, and guacamole

Tilapia Veracruz con Columbo
Tilapia surrounded by a generous medley of tropical fruits and vegetables, baked en papillote and accompanied by lentil vadai

Coconut Mushroom Chicken with Pineapple Salsa
Tender chicken breast sauteed in a Tom Kha Gai sauce redolent with lemongrass, lime, and galangal. Finished with a gentle pineapple salsa and thin crisps of grilled tortilla

I just ate this and I must say that Abi was a bit harsh. This meal can only be described as a flavor explosion. My senses nearly became overwhelmed by spices and I was wisked away from my beige cube (oh so much beige) to (what I guess is) IndiSriMexiThailand. I’m in an outdoor market. I’m being asked to buy exotic food products but I don’t know this because they are asking me in a language that I don’t understand.Yes, the watery rice soup at the bottom is bothersome, but this doesn’t not take away from the taste. And, in the end, its about taste (well, taste, and price, and not dying prematurely due to consumption of crap). I give it four stars and my personal recommendation.

What a let down! It tasted kind of sour to me, little spice. I guess I’m going to to have potato chips for lunch instead.
