Betty says: Simply add water, stir, microwave and in minutes you’ll be enjoying a warm, delicious bowl of Molten Chocolate Cake. With Betty Crocker Warm Delights, you are just three minutes from heaven!
Abi says: On one hand, it is nice to make a cake in the microwave and confuse coworkers. On the other hand, this cake contains a quarter of my saturated fat for the day and the ‘molten fudge’ part tastes like chocolate glue.
Ah, choices.

The brownie one was better than the chocolate cake. What’s the difference? I don’t know, exactly. Both are chocolate and vaguely cake-like and come with an obscure fudge topping, but they turn out differently in the end. Hmm. Also, if the picture is accurate, it looks like you may have overcooked it. ‘Done’ is when there are some moist spots on the top. Strange but true. This keeps the fudge more.. fudgy, and less like glue.
I don’t recommend the new lemon cake ones. I was intrigued, as I am a fan of both cake and lemon-flavored things, but what I got was some vanilla-tasting cake and a topping that tastes like melted lemon Starburst. I actually like lemon Starburst, but… eh. There’s the word for it. ‘Eh.’
I love these cakes. I bought a couple to try.. my son loved them ! We went back to the store and bought the last 6 packages and I haven’t been able to find them since. I was in Buffalo New York last week and bought a few there at Tops. Please let me know where I can buy some more ! I give these cakes a number 10 !!!!!!!!!!!!
I found the Molten Chocolate Cake to be delicious, and from the picture, I would definitely say that one is overcooked. The fudge is still supposed to be like fudge and not…well sucked into the cake and dry looking the way the one in the picture looks. If not overcooked, it’s delightful.
I give the Molten Chocolate Cake 1 out of 5. I tried it once and I did not like it at all. However, the Hot Fudge Brownie is downright delicious. I buy that one a lot.
I’ve tried the chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookie, and cinnamon swirl cake Warm Delight, and I have to say that I found all 3 absolutely delicious. I think it’s pretty amazing that you just add water and these things can taste so good. That being said, I try to never ever eat them, as it’s pretty sad that they are small and contain about 400 calories each. Not good. But as a treat once in a while, they are delicious, and actually very satisfying. It doesn’t much bother me that you are cooking a “cake” in a microwave. I guess that could be looked at as kind of pathetic, but eh… it tastes good. Whatever. I bought 2 Warm Delights a few months ago and the cinnamon one has been sittiing my pantry, as I’ve felt too guilty to indulge in it. Maybe I will treat myself tonight though.. yum!
I just recently tried the molten chocolate cake minis and was suprised at how good they turned out to be! I was expecting something close to a tiny easy-bake oven cake, however, what I got was extremely satisfying. I have yet to try the hot fudge brownies, but the reviews are great. I think I’ll go buy some… right… now. Bye
I love these little cakes. They’re perfect for a quick little snack that I couldn’t possibly overindulge in as long as I just take one to work with me. : ) Problem though… I brought one to work with me today and I don’t have the directions on how much water to put in the little bowl. I don’t want to add too much or not enough. Any help?
Waiting patiently to have my snack,
Amber
I absolutely loved this cake! I’m a big fan of things that turn out well when you follow directions, lol.
It was moist, gooey in the right places and very tasty! I will buy them often!!!
“molten” makes me think of lava
OMG!!! I was a bit hesitate to try these. But I received a free sample…so I thought what the heck. I needed a warm, chocolately something to warm me up this afternoon…and boy oh boy did it pick me up. Betty knows what she is doing!! I will probably give the carmel cake a try…but you can never go wrong with chocolate and fudge. Can I get an Amen!??!!
