Morningstar says: Delicious, classic, corn dog taste in a two-bite size

Abi says: Mini corn dogs do not a meal make. It would be very easy to eat many mini corn dogs in a single sitting. Today, I showed perseverance and consumed a single serving of Morningstar Mini Corn Dogs. I expect to receive my award at a ceremony held later today on the lawn of the FDA building.

Actually, I don’t know if the FDA even has a lawn, but the USDA is right on the mall, so that could work well as a ceremony site subsititute. Illusions of grandeur aside, the toaster oven instructions for Morningstar mini-corndogs could cause consternation among your coworkers. Cooking them according to the directions on the package would mean using the toaster oven for almost 15 minutes. Instead of hogging the toaster oven only, heat them in the microwave for 35 seconds, then put them in the toaster oven. That way you are guaranteed fully cooked and crispy bites of goodness.

In terms of edibleness, they are on par with any other mini corn dog that one would make at home. Not as good as the real meat ones from BW3 (Buffalo Wild Wings to all non-Michiganders), but much better than expected and hot and crispy with corny goodness.

That said, they need condiments. The box shows ketchup, which I will eat only on hamburgers and potato-based items. I prefer yellow, or spicy brown mustard with my mini corn dogs. The addition of nostril-widening mustard makes this item a pleasant treat for your mouth, but not for your breath.

Those corn dogs look like bloated amputated digits and would not look good upon a salad.

One time I let my brother heat up one of these dogs (the on a stick kind) and I didn’t tell him until after he’d eaten it that it was vegitarian. He didn’t believe me at first, but then I showed him the fine print he hadn’t bothered to read on the box.

These are soooo good. I’d take them over a “regular” corn dog anyday!

I agree, these taste just like a real corn dog. They’re not exactly healthy though. It’s fun treat when we have a coupon for it. I agree spicy mustard is a good companion!
